September 08, 2014

Description:

Share this resource using its short link: www.healthlawyers.org/MilitaryPatientRights

Understand your rights and responsibilities as a military medical beneficiary when receiving care from a military treatment facility. Generally, the U.S. Department of Defense provides guidelines for MTFs while The Joint Commission sets standards for the civilian, non-MTF medical facility. While “patient’s rights” brochures will vary from facility to facility, this newest resource from AHLA outlines the fundamental rights and responsibilities that one has when receiving medical care as an active duty service member.

This resouce may be helpful for active duty military personnel, spouses and other family members of active duty servicemen/women, Legal Assistance Divisions for the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and National Guard, and Judge Advocates General.
