In-depth breakout sessions at the Physicians and Hospitals Law Institute will focus on legal challenges faced by physicians and their counsel, the legal challenges faced by hospitals and health systems and their counsel, and the legal issues of interest to both segments of the health care delivery system.

Cybersecurity Track!
On Friday, February 3, attendees have the option of attending a track focused on cybersecurity. The sessions are:

  • Cybersecurity Threats, Enforcement Trends and Practical Challenges
  • Federal and State Cybersecurity Enforcement
  • Got Cybersecurity? Practical Strategies for Approaching Security Risk Management
  • Cybersecurity–Incident Response: Planning and Investigation
  • Cybersecurity–Into the Breach: Practical Actions to Respond and Minimize Risk
One day registration is available for those interested in just attending the Cybersecurity track.

The planning committee strives to plan a high quality, practical program that will meet the educational needs of our members. We hope you will make plans to join us in Orlando! The program will begin at 8:00 am on Wednesday, February 1 and end at 3:35 pm on Friday, February 3.

Program Materials

All materials will be available on a website prior to and after the program and handed out on a flash drive at the program.

All registrants will receive an email a week prior to the program with a link to the materials. This website is for attendees only and is not posted to the public. You must have the direct link to the website. The email will come from AHLA Member Services. Cancellation / Substitutions

Cancellations must be received in writing by January 20, 2017. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after the cutoff date. Registration fee, minus the $125 administrative fee, will be refunded approximately 3-4 weeks following the program. If you wish to send a substitute, need more information regarding refund, complaint and program cancellation policies please call (202) 833-1100 prompt #5. Note that the registration fee is based on the AHLA membership status of the individual who actually attends the program.

Continuing Education

CLE/MCLE: AHLA will be applying for 18.5 credits (including 2.0 ethics credits) for 60-minute states and approximately 22.2 (including 2.4 ethics credits) credits for 50-minute states. The number of credits approved may vary state to state.

CPE: This seminar will be worth approximately 22.0 CPE credits. AHLA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be addressed to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, 150 Fourth Avenue North, Suite 700, Nashville, TN 37219-2417. CCB: AHLA will be applying for 22.2 Compliance Certification Board (CCB) credits.

This program is designed to be an update on developments in the area of physician and hospitals issues. There are no prerequisites or advanced preparations required to register for this group live program. Those seeking accounting credits should be familiar with the basic concepts of law and terminology associated with this area in order to obtain the full educational benefit of this program.
