This program covers Stark, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and the enforcement efforts in these areas. Faculty will also address emerging regulatory trends, recent case law and legislative developments, and how they will affect legal and compliance practices in health care. Every year, this program brings together legal counsel, compliance officers, and government representatives for an invaluable learning and networking opportunity.
The program will feature a Keynote Address from Joyce R. Branda, Deputy Assistant Attorney General from the Office of Assistant Attorney General, Civil Division of the DOJ. Elizabeth Carder-Thompson will follow with the Year in Review. In-depth breakout sessions include:

We will not automatically be printing binders for everyone. All materials will be available on a website prior to the program and handed out on a flash drive at the program. For those who still do want the binder they will be available for an additional fee; please order on the registration form.

Cancellations must be received in writing by September 18, 2015. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after the cancellation date. Registration fee, minus the $125 administrative fee, will be refunded approximately 3-4 weeks following the program. CLE/MCLE: AHLA has applied for 15.5 credits (including 2.0 ethics credits) for 60-minute states and approximately 18.6 (including 2.4 ethics credits) credits for 50-minute states. The number of credits approved my vary state to state. Introductory remarks, breaks, luncheons, and receptions are not included in the computation of credit hours. Participants will be given CLE Request forms at the program. Forms must be completed and returned to AHLA staff to receive credit. The sessions, unless otherwise designated, are intermediate to advanced in level. There are no prerequisites required to register for this program.
CPE: This seminar will be worth approximately 18.0 CPE credits. AHLA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. This program is designed to be an update on developments in the area of fraud and abuse and compliance issues. There are no prerequisites or advanced preparations required to register for this group live program. Those seeking accounting credits should be familiar with the basic concepts of law and terminology associated with this area in order to obtain the full educational benefit of this program.
