City Hospital has a problem. Its General Counsel has received an inquiry letter from the DEA alleging that a physician on the hospital’s medical staff has been identified as an over-prescriber of opiates. The physician has recently received discipline through the hospital’s peer review process and his prescription practices are relevant to a current lawsuit. The hospital CEO has called an “all hands on deck” meeting. Join the Medical Staff Credentialing and Peer Review Practice Group and the Health Care Liability and Litigation Practice Group as we “listen in” on a role-play style presentation of a conversation between the CEO, the GC, and the CMO. They will discussion important issues related to the peer review privilege, medical staff credentialing and privileging, handling inquiries from governmental agencies, and litigation risks related to opiate prescription practices.
This event is not included in the program registration. There is an additional fee of $60 for members of the sponsoring Practice Groups and $70 for non-members; limited attendance; pre-registration required.
