The Fundamentals of Health Law program is a valuable training program for new associates and in-house counsel and also an excellent refresher for experienced health lawyers. The program's faculty not only dispenses their knowledge of legal issues, but they also provide insight into the challenges ahead in order to help attendees build an effective legal practice. The networking opportunities with other new associates, in-house counsel, and the Association's leaders are an invaluable experience.

  • In-depth breakout sessions on Managed Care, Antitrust, Long Term Care, Tax Exemption and Tax Issues, and more

Program Materials

We will not automatically be printing binders for everyone. All materials will be available on a website prior to the program and handed out on a flash drive at the program. For those who still do want the binder they will be available for an additional fee; please order on the registration form.

All registrants will receive an email a week prior to the program with a link to the materials. This website is for attendees only and is not posted to the public. Cancellation / Substitutions

Cancellations must be received in writing by November 10, 2015. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after the cancellation date. Registration fee, minus the $125 administrative fee, will be refunded approximately 3-4 weeks following the program. If you wish to send a substitute, need more information regarding refund, complaint and program cancellation policies please call (202) 833-1100 prompt #5. Note that the registration fee is based on the AHLA membership status of the individual who actually attends the program.

Continuing Education

CLE/MCLE: AHLA has applied for 16.9 credits (including 2.0 ethics credits) for 60-minute states and approximately 20.3 (including 2.4 ethics credits) credits for 50-minute states. The number of credits approved my vary state to state. Introductory remarks, breaks, luncheons, and receptions are not included in the computation of credit hours. Participants will be given CLE Request forms at the program. Forms must be completed and returned to AHLA staff to receive credit. The sessions, unless otherwise designated, are intermediate to advanced in level. There are no prerequisites required to register for this program.

CPE: This seminar will be worth approximately 20.0 CPE credits. AHLA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. CCB: AHLA has been approved for 20.3 Compliance Certification Board (CCB) credits.

This program is designed to be an update on developments in the area of health law issues. There are no prerequisites or advanced preparations required to register for this group live program. Those seeking accounting credits should be familiar with the basic concepts of law and terminology associated with this area in order to obtain the full educational benefit of this program.
