Title: Changing the Rules of the Game: NLRB Activity and Its Effect on the Long Term Care Workplace

2011 was a year of unprecedented activity by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). That activity, in the form of notice posting requirements, new rules regarding union elections, and case decisions regarding the size of bargaining units, has the potential to significantly increase unionization of the healthcare sector in general and the long term care field in particular. NLRB has also begun a new and aggressive application of the standard of protection for Section 7 rights generally to workplace policies, potentially dragging both unionized and non-unionized employers into liability under the National Labor Relations Act. Join us as we bring together experts for a wide-ranging discussion of the implications for healthcare employers of the NLRBs activity in 2011 and its plans for 2012.
