​AHLA's Health Care Liability and Litigation Practice Group (HCLL PG) addresses issues that encompass all areas of potential liability that affect health care providers, suppliers, and manufacturers, and keeps its membership current on developments in the litigation and trial of health care disputes involving hospitals, payers, integrated delivery systems, and individual physicians, as well as manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and diagnostics.

  • Managed Care Contracting Toolkit
    - PG Toolkit: Last updated on February 28, 2019 
    This Toolkit is organized in the order of a typical managed care contract and outlines general principles that should be considered when negotiating contract provisions as a Provider or Managed Care Organization (MCO). Where applicable and unambiguous, sample contract language has been marked as either MCO- or provider-friendly, or neutral. Important principles have been listed at the beginning of each section to provide a roadmap and some general thoughts for contracting parties.

    - Published on December 21, 2015
    Case law on key issues in the enforcement of consumer arbitration agreements varies considerably from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. ​Alternative Dispute Resolution Affinity Group

The Alternative Dispute Resolution Affinity Group (ADR AG) assists members who participate in arbitration, mediation, and peer review hearings as an advocate and/or as a neutral as well as those who assist health care organizations in managing internal conflicts and preventing litigation.

All publications and resources produced by the ADR AG are available in the HCLL PG Topical Library, and membership in the ADR AG is free to all HCLL PG members. To enroll, complete and return the enrollment form or call AHLA's Member Service Center at (202) 833-1100, prompt #2.
