Fraud and Abuse Practice Group Mid-Year Luncheon

Sponsored by PYA
Monday, October 1, 2012
At the 2012 Fraud and Compliance Forum
Renaissance Harborplace Hotel
Baltimore, MD

Title: Emerging Trends in False Claims Act Enforcement

Numerous False Claims Act lawsuits are filed around the country each month against entities in the healthcare industry by whistleblowers and the government. During this luncheon, two lead government attorneys—one from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and one from the U.S. Attorney's office for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY)—provided insights on new trends, issues, and legal theories being presented by whistleblowers and DOJ enforcement activities. We hope that their expert perspectives will help healthcare attorneys to better advise their clients about assessing new areas of potential exposure and implementing proactive compliance measures.
