We are pleased to present the second webinar in the FMV Bootcamp series. The objective of the Bootcamp is to use a comprehensive hypothetical case study containing common transaction elements to illustrate areas that healthcare attorneys may encounter when representing hospitals and health systems in transactions involving referring physicians.

Part II of the Bootcamp will be offered as a webinar consisting of healthcare attorneys and valuation professionals with substantial experience in hospital-physician alignment transactions. The webinar will build upon the hypothetical case study scenario developed during Part I (simulcast session) and consist of:

  • Overview of the hypothetical case study and recap of the issues addressed during the simulcast;
  • Discussion of fundamental valuation theory and methodology issues typically encountered in connection with physician practice and compensation transactions;
  • Discussion of the issue of using the same vs. different valuation firms to value the practice and compensation arrangement(s);
  • Communications between the valuation firm(s) and the hospital, physician practice, and attorney;
  • What happens when the hospital and/or attorney disagree with the valuation firm?; and
  • Role-play—to address the various roles and responsibilities of the professionals typically involved with a hospital-physician alignment transaction.
