Title: From Stem Cells to Jail Cells: The Tortured History of Embryo Research

Description:

Professor Charo’s talk will trace the roots of current debates and disputes back more than 100 years. She will provide a political history of the Dickey-Wicker amendment and the Bush and Obama administration policies on human embryonic stem cell research, and will discuss how this history is relevant to the Sherley v. Sebelius litigation.
