Title: Current Issues Facing Tax Practitioners

The following topics will be discussed during the luncheon:
  1. New governance training for IRS agents and even greater scrutiny of governance.
    • What are you seeing as far as changes in governance practices of hospitals and healthcare systems?
  2. Recent FASB activity.
    • What are the new changes and issues for nonprofit organizations?
  3. Healthcare reform’s impact on tax-exempt hospital scrutiny.
    • Is the pressure off for the moment?
  4. New Form 990s for the 2008 year are rolling into the IRS.
    • Initial reports indicate it has been difficult, very expensive, and time-consuming for preparers and organizations. Any lessons learned?
  5. Recent attacks on the “rebuttable presumption of reasonableness” rule and “initial contract” exception.
    • Should you be concerned?
  6. Utilizing LLCs, L3Cs, etc., as subsidiaries and other types of vehicles for your organization.
