The Updated Special Fraud Alert: Telemarketing by Durable Medical Equipment Suppliers will appear in today's Federal Register. It updates the 2003 Special Fraud Alert, Telemarketing by Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Suppliers, to highlight concerns about Durable Medical Equipment suppliers contacting Medicare beneficiaries by telephone based solely on treating physicians' preliminary written or verbal orders prescribing DME.
