Working Groups
The Antitrust Practice Group invites you to become more involved in the Practice Group. We have an immediate need for volunteers in the following areas:
Coverage of Upcoming Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Workshops: The FTC has announced that it will hold two workshops related to the healthcare industry this fall. The workshops will cover:
- The Competitive Significance of Healthcare Quality Information (October 30, 2008)
- Competition Issues Involving Follow-on Biologic Drugs
(November 21, 2008)
Access additional details on the workshops.
The Commission has also stated its intention to release a report on the issues and policy options addressed at these events in the spring of 2009. The Antitrust Practice Group is seeking volunteers to monitor these workshops and report to the membership on significant developments. The follow-up activity will likely include written summaries of the workshops, along with one or more teleconferences and/or articles. If you are interested in becoming involved in this project—some of which may be undertaken in conjunction with the Life Sciences Practice Group—please contact Rich Feinstein or Doug Ross.
Publications: If you are interested in drafting an article on a "hot" healthcare antitrust topic that merits careful analysis and exposition, please contact Doug Ross.
Teleconferences: Planning is underway for teleconferences related to provider networks, competitor exclusion, and healthcare antitrust economics, among others. If you would like to participate in planning any of these programs, or have an idea for another teleconference that would be of interest to the Antitrust Practice Group, please contact Christine White.
Listserve: Our listserve is available for members to post questions or initiate discussions about healthcare antitrust issues and developments. We invite you to post a question or initiate a discussion.
