House Clears Medicare Reform Bill By Wide Margin, But Measure Stalls In Senate 
In an overwhelming 355-59 vote, the House passed June 24 a Medicare reform bill (H.R. 6331) that averts the over 10% reimbursement cut to physicians that will otherwise go into effect July 1 and improves and extends certain programs for low-income Medicare beneficiaries. But the Senate in a 58-40 vote on June 26 fell short of invoking cloture on H.R. 6331. Full Story
CMS Proposes Rule To Increase Accessibility, Quality Of Rural Health Clinics 
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed rule in the June 27 Federal Register (73 Fed. Reg. 36696) that would seek to ensure Medicare beneficiaries who live in rural and underserved areas have access to high quality rural health clinics (RHCs). Full Story
