Co-sponsored by the Fraud and Abuse, Hospitals and Health Systems, In-House Counsel, and Physician Organizations Practice Groups
Description
This webinar will feature a discussion of common trends, best practices, and issues in structuring call coverage arrangements in light of the May 2009 OIG Advisory Opinion (09-05). The discussion will include perspectives of hospitals and physicians who provide call coverage and care to indigent and under-insured patients, as well as participation from the OIG. The exact topics covered are based on a survey of the membership to determine preferences, and topics include such concerns as the supply of available physicians, how to maintain continuous coverage, viable compensation structures, and how to avoid problematic coverage structures. In addition, the panel will consider the impact of potential healthcare reform legislation on arrangements that pay physicians for providing otherwise uncompensated care.
Please note: This webinar will repeat some of the information discussed at the September 24, 2009, AHLA webinar entitled Best Practices in Structuring Call Coverage After the Recent OIG Advisory Opinion 09-05.
