Description
Hospitals and physicians are constantly evaluating alignment strategies against a backdrop of ever-changing regulatory and economic factors. Over the past twelve months, we have witnessed substantially increased activity in hospital acquisitions of physician practices. This webinar will provide an overview of the key legal issues in acquiring physician practices, a comparison of acquisitions to other alignment strategies (e.g., recruitment and joint ventures), and a discussion of healthcare reform's potential impact on physician practice acquisitions. Webinar participants will receive a PowerPoint presentation and an acquisition checklist.
Participants should expect to obtain a working knowledge of the following from this webinar:
- Legal issues affecting physician practice acquisitions;
- Permissible valuation methodologies;
- Special consideration for acquisitions by nonprofit hospitals;
- Key business considerations from the hospital’s and the physician’s viewpoint;
- Transactional structuring options; and
- Comparison of practice acquisitions to other alignment strategies.
