In-House Counsel Practice Group Mid-Year Luncheon

At the 2009 Institute on Medicare and Medicaid Payment Issues
March 25-27, 2009
Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel

We're Here for the Money: Medicare Overpayment Issues and Disputes

Description:

There are many different circumstances in which a healthcare entity may find itself faced with a potential payment issue or dispute. Overpayment issues may arise in the course of an internal investigation. Overpayments may be alleged as the result of an external investigation by a federal or state enforcement agency. Or overpayments may be the focus of administrative recoupment actions by various contractors, such as carriers, intermediaries, RACs, or PSCs. This presentation will walk through some case studies related to payment issues and will evaluate what lessons can be learned when someone shows up and implicitly tells the company that we're here for the money.
