Program Description
The program is designed to analyze current legal and operational challenges facing in-house and outside counsel who represent payors, plans and providers. Some of the in-depth session topics include fundamentals of managed care, compliance/fraud and abuse, HIPAA, ERISA, antitrust, Medicare Part D/pharmacy, and Medicaid managed care. Also continuing this year, the program will include 3 interactive sessions. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from and network work with your colleagues in the managed care industry. 

Come in a day early and attend the pre-conference on Public Policy Meets Private Sector: A Crossroads for the Healthcare Industry co-sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center Health Project and the American Health Lawyers Association. This half-day program will provide an overview of the major changes in healthcare politics and policy. The audience will learn how these policy changes will impact legal and business advice. 

Practice Group Luncheon
The Payors, Plans, and Managed Care Practice Group will hold a luncheon and presentation, sponsored by BRG Health Analytics on December 6.

Program Materials
We will not automatically be printing binders for everyone. All materials will be available on a website prior to the program and handed out on CD at the program. For those who still do want the binder they will be available for an additional fee; please order on the registration form.

CLE/CPE Information
CLE: This program will be worth approximately 11.5 credits for 60-minute states and approximately 13.8 credits for 50-minute states. Participants will be given CLE Request forms at the program. Forms must be completed and returned to AHLA staff to receive credit. The sessions, unless otherwise designated, are intermediate to advanced in level. There are no prerequisites required to register for this program.

CPE: This seminar will be worth approximately 13.0 CPE credits. AHLA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. This program is designed to be an update on developments in the area of managed care. There are no prerequisites or advanced preparations required to register for this group live program. Those seeking accounting credits should be familiar with the basic concepts of law and terminology associated with the area of managed care in order to obtain the full educational benefit of this program and are required to sign in and out of every session during the program.

Cancellation/Substitutions
Cancellations must be received in writing.
