Program Description

Whether you are a generalist who needs to know tax issues or a certified tax expert, you will not want to miss the 2010 Tax Issues for Healthcare Oranizations program. As always, the program will feature representatives from the IRS and leading private practitioners who will address and analyze recent developments and current initiatives. The program will kick off Monday morning with a panel discussion on Exemption Standards in Healthcare Reform. In-depth breakout sessions will cover accountable care organizations and various other models, post-issuance compliance plans for tax-exempt bonds, employed physicians, conflicts of interest policies and disclosure questionnaires, and tax aspects of healthcare reform legislation. IRS Chief Counsel, William Wilkins will provide an update on priorities of the IRS Chief Counsel's Office. There will also be an informal gathering of in-house counsel during lunch on Monday sponsored by the Tax and Finance Practice Group’s Tax In-House Affinity Group.

Program Materials
In response to many requests from our members, AHLA is going green for in-person program. We are trying to reduce the amount of paper we use at our programs. This is both an effort at responsible environmental conservation, and an effort to increase the timeliness of the materials provided to our attendees. We will not automatically be printing binders for everyone. All materials will be available on a website prior to the program and handed out on CD at the program. For those who still do want the binder they will be available for an additional fee; please order on the registration form.
