Program Description
The Long Term Care and the Law program is designed to address the legal and operational challenges faced by nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies and other long term care providers. In-house and outside counsel, administrators, accountants and others who advise nursing homes, home health agencies, assisted living facilities and other long term care providers will not want to miss this important program.
This year, we have expanded the program to include a track of sessions on the legal issues facing assisted living facilities, such as drafting nursing facility and assisted living agreements, negotiating risk agreements, Fair Housing Act and level of care in assisted living facilities and labor and employment laws affecting long term care and assisted living facilities. The program will also include sessions on topics of interest to counsel for skilled nursing facilities including Part D, survey and enforcement, medicare appeals, medicaid, hospice, and legal ethics.
You don't want to miss this opportunity to gain timely and beneficial information, meet industry leaders and experts and earn valuable Continuing Legal Education credits and Nursing Home Administrator credits.
The Long Term Care Practice Group will hold their mid-year luncheon Thursday, February 28. There is an additional fee of $38 for members of the sponsoring Practice Group and $45 for non-members of the sponsoring Practice Group. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Volunteer Day
Habitat for HumanityPart of AHLA's Public Interest efforts has been to support New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This past summer, AHLA contributed financially to two organizations: The Mississippi Bar Foundation's Katrina Outreach Program and to the Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. We had an opportunity to contribute our time and handiwork.
