Masters Program

April 6-7, 2006
Westfields Marriott
Chantilly, VA

This program has already occurred. Please visit our archive to obtain papers and audio of the sessions presented.

Program Description

AHLA has re-launched the Masters Program in an effort to respond to the educational needs voiced by many of the Association's long-standing members that the Association should offer educational opportunities targeted at its most experienced members. At the 2006 Masters Program, participants can attend an advanced track on Health Information and Technology (HIT). This track is designed to attract our most experienced practitioners and maximize participation by those practitioners. The sessions will include facilitators and speakers, but the emphasis will be on participation by all in attendance because everyone there will have much to offer.

Health Information and Technology

The HIT Track will open with a keynote by Markle Foundation CEO, Zoe Baird. Attendees will then participate in discussions related to three cutting edge, advanced HIT issues: Electronic Health Records, Identity Theft, and the Rise of the Infomediaries. Print or download the full agenda.

Program Format

To maximize the exchange of information and enhance the quality of the learning process, AHLA will accept only 40 participants for the HIT track of the Masters Program. Therefore, if you wish to attend, it is important to apply early and include the necessary information requested.

To ensure that the Masters Program is a peer-to-peer, interactive learning experience, registrants must be prepared to participate in discussion of the topics listed on the agenda. Applicants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

CLE Information

The HIT Track will be worth approximately 8.5 credits for 60-minute states, and 10.2 credits for 50-minute states. Participants will be given CLE Request forms at the program. Forms must be completed and returned to Health Lawyers staff to receive credit. The sessions are advanced in level.
