Program Description
For the most comprehensive program available on legal issues related to reimbursement, attend Health Lawyers' 25th Annual Institute on Medicare and Medicaid Payment Issues. The program will have numerous sessions covering provisions of the new Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003. CMS will host open door forums on hospital and physician issues to answer your questions, and we have invited CMS officials to do a special session on implementation issues. The conference will include breakout sessions on a number of topics affected by the new legislation, including the new Medicare Part D and the prescription drug benefit. We will also have breakout sessions on payment issues for physicians, nursing homes, and hospitals, all of which will highlight the substantial issues raised by this new law.

In all, the program will include sessions on more than 50 topics. In addition to in-depth coverage of the new legislation, speakers will provide current information and analysis of other issues such as Stark II; EMTALA; Hospital Outpatient PPS; When, Whether and How to Make Repayments and Disclosures; E&M Coding; Medicare Payment and Compliance Issues for Research and Clinical Trials; Reimbursement and Other Issues Facing Competitive Medical Practices; Payment and Compliance Issues Applicable to Mergers and Acquisitions; and many others.
