Program Description
The Fundamentals of Health Law program will be held November 12-14, 2003 at the Westin River North hotel in Chicago. This program is designed to be an excellent refresher for experienced health lawyers and a valuable training program for new associates and in-house counsel. Sessions will cover legal and regulatory issues such as HIPAA, antitrust, Stark, False Claims, Medicare and Medicaid, and tax. Speakers will also provide analysis of the legal challenges and issues faced by the various players in the healthcare industry, including physicians, hospitals and health systems, managed care organizations, and long term care facilities.

For each lunch, there is an additional fee of $37 and space is limited.

CLE Information
AHLA is an approved sponsor of continuing legal education credits in most states. This program will be worth approximately 16.4 credits for 60-minute states and approximately 19.7 credits for 50-minute states. There will not be any ethics credits offered for this program. Participants will be given CLE Request forms at the program. Forms must be completed and returned to Health Lawyers staff to receive credit.

This seminar will be worth approximately 19.0 CPE credits. AHLA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
