Troy Sellars is a member of the Firm's Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Group. His practice encompasses the areas of business reorganizations and restructurings, bankruptcy law and creditors' rights law.
Mr. Sellars joined Post and Schell in February of 2009 after serving just over 5 years as a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee in Harrisburg, PA. While at the U.S. Trustee’s office, Mr. Sellars was responsible for, among other things, the supervision and oversight of approximately one-half of all the Chapter 11 cases filed in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Through that experience, Mr. Sellars acquired an in-depth knowledge of the scope and possibilities of the work that can be effectively accomplished through the bankruptcy system. Prior to joining the U.S. Trustee’s Program, Mr. Sellars served in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division, Criminal Enforcement section, in Washington D.C. While at the Tax Division, Mr. Sellars initially served as a federal prosecutor, prosecuting a variety of white collar crimes through out the United States. Additionally, Mr. Sellars served as the Bankruptcy Fraud Coordinator for the Tax Division.
After approximately, four and one-half years as a front-line attorney, Mr. Sellars was named Counsel to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Tax Matters. In that position, Mr. Sellars assisted in the oversight and management of the operations of, and litigation conducted by, the Tax Division.
Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Mr. Sellars served two years as the law clerk to the Honorable John E. Steele in Jacksonville, Fl. Judge Steele was at the time an United States Magistrate Judge and is now a U.S. District Judge in Fort Myers Florida.
