Mr. Pease has served as an assistant United States attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania since 1997. He is the chief of the Government and Healthcare Fraud and Environmental Crimes Section, and his responsibilities include supervision of all criminal prosecutions by the United States in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in the subject areas of health care fraud, procurement and program fraud affecting U.S. government agencies, environmental crimes, and crimes over which the Food and Drug Administration has jurisdiction, including off-label promotion of pharmaceutical products, and adulterated and misbranded drugs and food products.

During his tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s office, Mr. Pease has prosecuted many significant cases in the areas of public corruption, including the prosecution of former State Senator Vincent Fumo, tax evasion, corporate fraud, bank fraud, and other forms of commercial fraud. In 2001 he was awarded the Director's Award for “Superior Performance as an Assistant United States Attorney” by the Attorney General in Washington, DC.

Mr. Pease was an associate with the Philadelphia based law firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis from 1992-1997, where he handled complex commercial litigation, RICO, federal securities and financial services litigation, white collar criminal defense, and SEC enforcement investigations.

Mr. Pease is an adjunct professor at Drexel University’s Earle Mack School of Law and teaches Trial Advocacy to second and third year law students. He has lectured at various professional seminars and, in 2004, taught at the “Seminar on Fundamentals of Investigating Financial Crimes,” sponsored by U.S. Department of Justice Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Training Assistance and Development, the Kingdom of Thailand Attorney General’s Office, the Royal Thai Police Department of Special Investigations and the Thai Criminal Law Institute, Bangkok Thailand.

Mr. Pease received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief, University of Pittsburgh Journal of Law and Commerce. He received a Bachelor of Science in Economics, magna cum laude, with a major in Finance, from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
