Anjana Patel is a member of the Sills Cummis & Gross Healthcare Practice Group. Patel represents a diverse group of healthcare providers, including hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory surgery centers and other ambulatory care facilities, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, investment funds specializing in healthcare, physician groups and various other healthcare facilities and businesses.
Patel represents healthcare providers in a variety of complex business transactions including strategic transactions designed to better position providers in light of the new Healthcare Reform Law and its mandate for delivery of care reform (such as ACOs and medical homes) and payment reform (such as bundled payments). She also actively represents clients in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations, and a variety of contractual matters, including professional services agreements, recruitment, and employment.
Patel provides guidance and compliance strategies with respect to healthcare regulatory issues involving federal and state fraud and abuse laws, the Stark and state self-referral laws, corporate practice of medicine, non-profit and tax-exemption law, and licensure and certificate of need regulation. In addition, she provides advice on the organization, governance and operations of non-profit and for-profit companies.
Patel is a frequent speaker at conferences, both nationally and regionally, on healthcare issues, and has authored numerous articles in various healthcare industry publications.
