Michael Lampert is an associate practicing in the Health Care Group of Ropes & Gray in Boston.

Professional Experience

Michael's practice has spanned a broad spectrum of the health care field. In the context of academic medicine, he has assisted both academic and clinical institutions in restructuring existing and building new affiliations; developing effective governance structures; and evaluating and refining faculty and research relationships, including the review, enhancement, and practical application of institutional policies on conflicts of interest. He has extensive familiarity with fraud and abuse laws and other health care regulation, and advises hospitals and other providers in structuring compliant relationships; developing and applying effective policies and compliance programs; conducting internal and responding to government investigations; and taking appropriate corrective action. He also has assisted for-profit and tax-exempt health care clients through mergers, acquisitions, and financings, providing both transactional and regulatory advice. Michael has been active in pro bono matters, recently assisting with the organization of a charitable health care network in several Latin American countries and at the Vatican.
