The issues surrounding our healthcare system have always captured my attention. I knew that one day I wanted to be in a position where I could represent and advocate for those impacted by our complex healthcare system. Working at the Center for Medicare Advocacy and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services solidified my desire to be a healthcare attorney. It was in these roles that I was able to see how the regulatory, policy and litigation components of health law functioned. I am now fulfilling by dream in my role as the Assistant General Counsel of Palomar Pomerado Heath, a district hospital system. This position allows me to impact care providers and patients through my work on matters related to HIPPA/HITECH, Stark, Anti-kickback and major transactions. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve on the Young Professionals Council.
