As Principal of HealthCare Law Consulting, LLC, Ms. Hessler provides legal advice on healthcare issues as well as consulting and education services in the area of healthcare and business ethics, compliance, risk management and mediation. She has served as Corporate Counsel for international, national, and regional nursing facilities and General Counsel for single entity nursing facilities and long term care communities in New Mexico. She also represents nurses and administrators before their licensing boards.
In addition to her degrees in law and nursing, Ms. Hessler holds an active law license in New Mexico (inactive licenses in Washington and Colorado), an active RN license in Washington State, and a Certificate in Health Care Ethics from the University of Washington. She is currently finishing a Certificate Program in Ethics Consultations at the University of New Mexico and has been a member of several hospital ethics committees.
Ms. Hessler is a frequent speaker and teaches seminars in law and ethics to nurses and other interdisciplinary health care professionals. She taught Healthcare Ethics at the University of New Mexico honors undergrad program.
