D. Louis Glaser concentrates his practice on corporate, transactional and regulatory health care law. He represents a wide variety of clients, including hospitals and multi-hospital systems, alternative delivery systems, HMOs and managed care organizations, ancillary service providers, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, physicians and group practices and medical clinics. On behalf of these entities, Mr. Glaser:
- Provides advice in connection with general corporate and transactional matters, as well as federal and state regulatory matters.
- Handles mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, divestitures, joint ventures, private offerings, nonprofit conversions and other corporate transactions.
- Focuses significant time on hospital-physician relationships.
- Assists clients with an array of regulatory matters related to federal taxation (both tax-exempt and for-profit), Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse (including anti-kickback and physician self-referral), certificate of need and other general regulatory matters.
Mr. Glaser has received a host of awards and other commendations. In 2001, Mr. Glaser was selected as one of Illinois’ leading attorneys under the age of 40. This honor is granted annually by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company, publisher of The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and The Chicago Lawyer. Mr. Glaser has been named among “The Best Lawyers in America - Health” (2003-present), published by Corporate Counsel; was selected by his peers as a member of the “Leading Lawyers Network - Health Law” (2004-present); was named by Nightingale’s Healthcare News as one of the Country’s Outstanding Hospital Lawyers (2003) and Outstanding Healthcare Transactional Lawyers (2004); and is listed in Chambers USA: American Leading Lawyers for Business (2009).
Mr. Glaser earned his Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University in 1984, his Masters of Health Administration from Ohio State University in 1986, and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1989, where he served as the editor-in-chief of the Loyola Law Journal. In 2005, Mr. Glaser received a Certificate of Mediation from the American Health Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice in Illinois.
