Program Description
The annual Academic Medical Centers program is designed to address the legal issues unique to teaching hospitals and academic medical centers. This program attracts in-house and outside counsel for the nation’s leading teaching hospitals and provides an excellent environment for the sharing of best practices and the exploration of new issues. The sessions will tackle some of the most cutting edge and controversial issues in health law and provide concrete advice to attendees on how to handle them. Featured speakers will include Lewis Morris, Chief Counsel to the Inspector General at the Department of Health and Human Services and Edward Salsberg, M.D., Director of the Center for Workforce Studies at AAMC. Sessions will address topics such as IRB accreditation, IRB compliance, compensation, HIPAA, antitrust, and charity care and pricing issues.
