Types of Publications

Health Lawyers' publications are organized into several series to differentiate them by content, format, and target audience. Below you will find a description of each series and a link to see all publications in each.

Expert Series

Targets cutting-edge legal issues, offering concise, legal information and analysis on focused issues in specific areas of health law. These monographs include practical strategies, advice and suggested resolutions, and detailed references designed to assist even the most sophisticated attorney in advising clients on complex matters of health law.

Cornerstone Series

Books that should be the foundation of any healthcare law library. They are written and reviewed by members who are experts in their respective healthcare field. Each book provides comprehensive information, including background information as well as the most current details and reference data available, and is indexed for quick and easy reference.

Practice Guide Series

Offers practical day-to-day examples that help an attorney in a how-to fashion. They contain analysis and checklists in given areas of healthcare law as well as appendices containing such items as sample contracts, sample pleadings, relevant statutes and regulations, and sample forms and documents to give the health law attorney working examples and specific, practical assistance on any given day.

Desktop Direct: E-Learning Series

Now American Health Lawyers Association brings its unparalleled health law speakers and their materials directly to your desktop through its new E-Learning series—video and audio of select sessions at AHLA's educational programs along with the written materials and power point slides from the presentations.

Desktop Reference Series

Helps the busy practitioner quickly discover how states may be legislating in a given area of healthcare law, take a quick look at federal statutes and regulations in the field, or discover additional research resources. These handy references can be easily pulled off the shelf for quick responses or comparisons on given topics.

Issues Collection

Public Information Series

This series allows the Association to share its expertise on topics that are of interest both to healthcare attorneys and the broader healthcare community, including health professionals, healthcare executives, public health agencies, pro bono attorneys, and perhaps most importantly, consumers.

They include Program Binders, one or two 3-ring binders containing all the papers presented at the program sessions, Individual Program Papers from program sessions, which are listed in the Guides to Seminar Materials, and Audiotapes, cassette recordings of each program session available individually or in sets.

Colloquium Reports
