David J. Greenburg (1925-2007) was the founder of both the Academy of American Healthcare Attorneys in 1967 and the National Health Lawyers Association in 1971, the organizations that came together to form AHLA. David was interested in creating a specialty of health law, and he worked tirelessly to create a collegial community of professionals helping each other and the public. David's commitment to excellence, his ability to motivate, his vision, his warmth and his love of life touched his colleagues and his staff in a fundamental way. David is gone, but his spirit lives on in AHLA's members and its staff.
